What is a Welcoming Congregation?

A Welcoming Congregation is a UUA congregation which has gone through a process and taken a congregational vote to welcome and affirm bisexuals, gays, lesbians and transgender people (BGLT, for short.) FUSF has done this and is a Welcoming Congregation.

Why are we talking about this again?

It was several years back when went through the process of becoming a Welcoming Congregation. We are a fast growing church with many new members who weren't here for that. This is a chance for us to re-affirm our Welcoming Congregation status, and to aquaint new members with what it means.

How can I participate?

• Participation will be at many levels. The goal is to have welcoming and affirming take place eveywhere in our church:
  • From the time a person first visits the church
  • To committee work
  • To RE and adult education classes
  • To our person to person interactions
